Keisig Family
Mr. Keisig: — Thank you, Mr. Speaker. To you and through you, I would like to welcome some very special guests to your Chamber here today. Today we are joined by my daughter, Shannara Keisig. She is graduating from licensed practical nursing in June. She’s completed her school work and she’s finishing up her clinical. Her favourite so far, Mr. Speaker, have been the burn unit and the emergency room. She’s enjoyed that aspect.
Also with her is my other daughter, Sharlize Keisig. She’s graduating from Lakeland College in Vermilion in the veterinary technician program. She completed all of her school work and classes in March, and her four-week clinical trial finished on Friday. And she is a certified veterinary technician. She did her clinical at Earl Grey veterinary clinic and she really enjoyed it. Very busy during calving season, Mr. Speaker, but she also had a steady rotation of small animals, and it was a great experience for her. She’s thinking of going to work in Melville at the veterinary clinic there.
And I am very proud of both of my daughters, Mr. Speaker. And I definitely know that their future lies in Saskatchewan. Seated with them as well, I have to clarify to the Chamber that’s not another sister. That’s their mother there today, Mr. Speaker.
So Mother’s Day is on Sunday, Mr. Speaker, and my daughters have always enjoyed doing something special for their mother on Mother’s Day. And it’s always challenging with a nurse in shift work and clinical and schedule and a busy agricultural operation my other daughter’s in. We have to get the crop in, Mr. Speaker. And then plus there’s a Rural Municipal Administrators’ Association convention coming up, so my wife’s been very busy with that.
So today was the only day that could jive. And my daughters organized everything and they said, you couldn’t have a better day than . . . oh, shoot.
An Hon. Member: — Today.
Mr. Keisig: — No. Oh shoot. You get your toenails done.
An Hon. Member: — Oh, pedicure.
Mr. Keisig: — Pedicures, politics, and Peavey Mart. So please join me in welcoming Shannara and Sharlize to this, their Legislative Assembly.
